Tubular Skylights allow natural sunlight to be directed from the rooftop down through a highly reflective tube and then diffused at the ceiling level. This delivers natural sun light from the ceiling to the floor without any color distortions to bring out the true beauty of your office decor. Tubular skylights capture direct and ambient light, providing exceptional illumination, even on cloudy days and in early morning or late afternoon when the sun is low in the sky.
Our Velux Sun Tunnels fit between the rafters and ceiling joists of a building, and thus require no structural modification.
What areas of your office could use more natural light? Bathrooms, hallways, kitchens, utility closets, lobbies or wherever you need natural light. Whether you are building new construction or remodeling existing, Tubular Skylights are an energy efficient choice for commercial lighting. Help save our natural resources by reducing energy consumption and allow natural daylight into you office and minimize the reliance on electricity to create artificial light in the space, thus reducing the monthly power bill.
Today, many studies show that natural sunlight helps combat depression and show that natural full- spectrum sunlight greatly contributes to increased productivity in the workplace and to an overall feeling of well-being. Sunlight deprivation can lead to a condition that experts call “Seasonal Affective Disorder,” also known as S.A.D. or the winter blahs. By bringing light from the sun into your house, or office, a Tubular Skylight can help you beat the winter blahs.
Exposure to natural light can also be very practical for some people. Allowing daylight into the home helps minimize the reliance on electricity to create artificial light in the space, thus reducing the monthly power bill. People with less than perfect vision often find it is easier to observe small details when using natural light instead of artificial light. There are some anecdotal reports of people recovering faster from colds and even surgical procedures if they are exposed to a certain amount of sunlight each day.
Is the Tubular Skylight energy efficient?
Yes! The Tubular Skylights are ENERGY STAR® qualified. The Tubular Skylights are with a sealed shaft that minimizes the transfer of heat or cold into the office.
Do Tubular Skylights cause fading?
Tubular Skylights do not fade the color of carpet or furniture because the solar tubular skylight blocks UV radiation that fades the color of furniture and carpet.
How much light will a Tubular Skylight transmit?
A precise answer depends on many factors including the roof orientation (i.e. South is always best), tunnel length, tunnel bends, time of day, season of the year, etc. However, generally the 10-inch diameter units are best for lighting up bathrooms, halls, walk-in closets and areas up to 150 square feet. The 14-inch diameter is best for lighting larger areas up to 300 square feet. The 21-inch diameter unit is perfect for lighting any type of room up to 15′ x 15′.
Will Tubular Skylights leak?
No! When installed correctly the unit should never leak. We use multiple techniques to prevent any possibility of leakage. We warrant ALL of our work.

Most metal roofs can be installed on. Contact us today for confirmation and pricing.
Can you install a Tubular Skylight on a two story building?
We can install very easily on the second floor. To get a light to the first floor we would have to build a partisan or use some closet space. The tube has to travel through the second floor to get to the first.
Are Tubular Skylights resistant to severe weather and hail?
The molded acrylic dome and metal flashing are both extremely durable. Even with the hail storms that we have in central Texas, tubular skylights are known to hold up.
