What is Turf Burn?
While energy-efficient, Low-E windows are a win for your utility bills, they can occasionally create a dangerous side effect for your backyard. These windows are designed to reflect solar heat away from your home. However, due to the slight “concave” flex of the glass caused by barometric pressure, they can act like a magnifying glass—concentrating sunlight into a high-intensity beam.
When this concentrated “hot spot” hits your lawn or home exterior, it can reach temperatures exceeding 200°F, leading to:
- Melted Artificial Turf: Permanent “burn streaks” or shriveled blades.

How Our Films Solve the Problem
